Salary Range: Hourly from $28.26 to $41.43; Annually from $59,007 to $86,506
Salary placement is dependent on education and experience

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Academic Travel Director provides strategic leadership for Normandale's academic travel program as a core institutional initiative supporting equity and student success. Directs policy development and resource allocation for academic travel. Serves as the institution's lead expert on academic travel, influencing college-wide strategies and partnerships. Provides operational oversight for all academic travel programs at the institution, including academic and non-curricular travel in Minnesota, the United States, and abroad.
Academic Travel is a core feature of a Normandale Community College education, providing safe, sustainable, and equitable travel and travel-related experiences to ensure that all students develop global competencies and 21st Century skills. The Director collaborates across divisions to ensure program quality, compliance, risk management, and alignment with institutional goals, while fostering enriching and equitable experiences for students, staff, and faculty.
This position will actively advance the college's strategic goals, including achieving equity in educational outcomes and supporting a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.
*This is a two-year appointment designed to implement a new travel model at Normandale Community College, a college with a rich history of international and local travel for its students. There is a possibility of extending this position beyond the two-year initial appointment.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL: These qualifications are required to move forward; as such, ( ensure your application contains descriptions of your education and work experience sufficient to demonstrate competency in each of the following ):
Documented professional development in study abroad, academic travel, international education, or related field.
Two years direct professional experience in educational abroad & away programming or related professional experience.?
Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and access in education abroad.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in international education or a related field.
At least three (3) years of direct professional experience in education abroad and away programming.
Demonstrated experience in co-curricular assessment.
Demonstrated experience working with academic programs in higher education.
Demonstrated experience in philanthropy and donor relations.
Demonstrated experience coordinating or managing study abroad and/or away programs, especially faculty-led programs.
Experience working with study abroad data and application managements systems such as Campus Community, ViaTRM, or Terra Dotta software.
Experience and/or training in health, safety, and risk management in education abroad and away.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations and supporting students from a variety of cultural, academic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
