Job Description:
The Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering (CCEE) in the College of Engineering is seeking a motivated and student-centered Academic Advisor I to join our advising team. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping students navigate their academic journey, explore career opportunities, and connect with resources that support their success.
As part of a collaborative team of advisors, you will guide undergraduate students in the civil engineering, construction engineering, and environmental engineering degree programs. You will play a key role in supporting student success through academic advising and course planning support, lead student programming through teaching, assist with recruitment and retention initiatives, and help students navigate and fulfill graduation requirements.
In this position, you'll also participate in summer orientation programs, build first-semester course plans for new students, facilitate prospective student visits, and represent the department at university-wide recruitment events. In addition, you will have the opportunity to lead student programming by teaching at least one section of ENGR 1010, the College of Engineering's orientation course, and by supporting faculty-led learning communities that help students navigate their first year of college.

Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance to students on program requirements, course registration, faculty-approved credit evaluations, and academic progress tracking
Enforce academic policies and graduation requirements
Participate in summer orientation programs and create first-semester course plans for new students
Facilitate prospective student visits and engage in recruitment activities
Assist with ABET accreditation documentation and collect assessment data for faculty use
Implement curriculum decisions and initiate necessary documentation
Teach at least one section of ENGR 1010 and support faculty-led learning communities
