Project Overview:
Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy LNG projects.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide project construction expertise with work planning, coordination and design interface between the Infrastructure cross GBU team and energy team for the overlap of phase 1 and phase 2 work. Your recommendations will ensure construction activities and planning operate safely, are complete, and conform to project requirements. Ensures that construction requirements are made known to the project team in a timely manner and obtains construction responses to the needs of other members of the project team. Early participation in the design and construction planning process by providing constructability input, with a focus on improving construction safety and quality, while seeking to optimize cost and schedule. This is a Short-Term Assignment.
Major Responsibilities:
Provides Construction recommendations on multiple disciplines/functional integration
Facilitating the development and execution of approved Constructability ideas and plans.
Participates in construction related decisions by providing construction's perspective to schedules, design deliverables, equipment purchases, degree of shop fabrication, and equipment delivery configuration and sequence.
Manages effective interface between Home office construction team and jobsite team ensuring construction's requirements are communicated.
Suggests and implements TIC improvement ideas.
Reviews and implements Construction lessons learned from past project
Develop constructability concepts and provide guidance to the design effort during the early phases of the project.
Participate in constructability reviews during the design process.
Collaborate with the development of construction procedures, plans, and strategy documents.
Work with the design teams to ensure requirements are incorporated into the design, layout, and specifications.
Participate in design development and suggest/implement economical construction details to be incorporated into design drawings and specifications, utilizing lessons learnt from other projects and construction best practices.
Monitor the completeness of engineering and procurement deliverables to support the construction schedule.
Support establishment of logistics strategy with design and procurement teams.
Support engineering and procurement schedule development.
Support Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (required on-site date) schedule optimization.
Represent construction in engineering, procurement and schedule review meetings.
Participate in office and field meetings with project team members and client personnel, as required, e.g., project review meetings.
Identify potential problem areas or trends and work on total installed cost and continuous improvement issues.
Maintain communication with the field organization and office project team members regarding significant problem areas and potential solutions.
Perform and coordinate the construction review of engineering drawings and specifications.
Coordinate the construction review of vendor drawings, shop fabrication details, and erection procedures, on behalf of construction.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of Civil Construction preferred.
Thorough knowledge of a specific construction engineering discipline gained through a combination of related education and construction experience.
Broad based knowledge of the function and interrelationships of field construction entities and operations.
Knowledge of Bechtel Construction SWPPs.
Understands and applies the requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes to area of responsibility.
Knowledge of the impact and effect of using field automation tools.
Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Safety Philosophy.
