**Airswift is seeking a Field Construction Engineer to work within our clients LNG project in Por Arthur, TX, for a 1-year assignment with the possibility of extension.
Oversee the safe and environmentally compliant execution of Piping installation and testing by EPC contractor at the project premises. Monitor the execution of work to ensure that progression is per the project specifications and industry standards and applicable codes. Report the quality issues in timely manner and help in resolving them with subject matter expertise. Assist the planning and develop tools to indicate the progress and generate daily, weekly and monthly reports.
Providing input on project field engineering specialization roles and expertise on overseeing the material management, quantity verification and validation. Technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination with contractors involved. Ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. This position will report to the Field Engineering Manager.
Job Responsibilities: **
Perform field observations, leadership and field walks, JSA reviews, attend toolbox meetings, and adhere to projects safety regulations.
Ensure piping installation, cleanliness, testing and restoration are code compliant, adhering to the project specifications, applicable drawings, manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
Maintain accountability on deliverables to PALNG within specific discipline and monitor the progress of work, participate in punch list walkdowns.
Develop firm understanding of system scoping from the beginning and prepare to walk the systems in the areas involved. Compile the drawings and specifications associated with each system, well in advance.
Oversee and manage contractor(s) construction activities to ensure compliance with the EPC contract, applicable permits, site regulations and construction safety program and monitor the schedule compliance.
Participate in system walkdowns, reporting punch items and clearing them through inspections.
Interface and respond to technical queries from internal stack holders, EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other counterparties required.
Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Participate in regular contractor construction meetings.
Review contractors procedures, reports and quality of the product to ensure compliance and EPC contract requirements.
Coordinate with Commissioning and Start-up Manager and engineers to facilitate start-up of the project in accordance with operations agreed system turnover plan and plant performance testing and expectations.
Manage compliance with proper and manufacturer required storage/preservation requirements.
Ensure safe and secure heavy haul and heavy lift program for all transported equipment to and within the site.
Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Required Skills:
10 years of experience managing major mechanical construction projects including the construction of LNG, Oil and Gas, and energy infrastructure projects.
5 years of experience with brownfield projects.
5 years of background in management or construction of energy infrastructure projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation relating to field activities.
Strong leadership abilities to build positive team environment, manage and influence team performance including mentoring.
Possess positive attitude and has the ability and poise to be professional during crucial discussions with senior management, and/or while presenting critical information requiring management decisionto overcome issues and concerns regarding the site operations.
Good working knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint to convey information with clarity through presentations and reports.
Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
Technical knowledge of a specialized engineering discipline, cost, scheduling and/or contracts administration relating to the construction of heavy industrial or commercial complexes.
Strong knowledge of engineering and construction standards, materials, and companies/vendors processes.
Ability to manage multiple and complex issues and work independently.
Good working knowledge of piping, supports, valves and other related items for gas industry.
Experience in executing heavy industrial projects in oil, gas, refinery process, petrochemical and power generating stations
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Drivers License required.
Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) preferred.
