The Marion County Court of Common Pleas Family Division is taking applications for the position of Attendance Case Manager -- Diversion Specialist. The Attendance Case Manager is a court-based position responsible for reducing chronic absenteeism and preventing formal Family Court involvement through early intervention and diversion. Operating under the authority of the Marion County Family Court, this position works collaboratively with schools, families, and community partners to address the underlying causes of truancy in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code and local rules. The Attendance Specialist emphasizes accountability, family engagement, and supportive services to improve school attendance and youth outcomes while minimizing unnecessary court filings. Diversion Department cases that are not attendance related may also be assigned to the Attendance Case Manager. Marion's Family Court includes the County's Probate, Domestic Relations, and Juvenile Divisions and is located at 222 West Center Street in Marion, Ohio.

The Attendance Case Manager -- Diversion Specialist position is a full-time, unclassified, exempt, at-will position reporting to the Diversion Administrator. All Family Court employees are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Judges.

The Attendance Case Manager plays an important role as we strive to adhere to JDAI principles. The Attendance Case Manager-Diversion Specialist plays an important role as we strive to adhere to JDAI principles. All Staff Members must adhere to the Court's vision of restorative justice practices.

The salary range for this position will be $20.00 - $22.50 per hour, commensurate with experience. Marion County offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with an attractive Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) benefits.

Section 2: Duties & Responsibilities

Duties of the Attendance Case Manager -- Diversion Specialist include, but are not limited to:

Receive referrals from schools, attendance officers, or court intake for youth who meet or are approaching habitual truancy thresholds under Ohio law (HB96)

Conduct court-approved intake screenings and assessments to identify barriers to school attendance, including family, behavioral, mental health, and environmental factors

Develop individualized attendance improvement and diversion plans consistent with Marion County Family Court standards

Facilitate attendance intervention meetings, diversion conferences, and parent engagement sessions on behalf of the court

Monitor achievement with diversion agreements and attendance plans; document progress and outcomes

Maintain regular communication with school administrators, attendance officers, court intake staff, probation officers, and service providers

Provide case management services, including referrals to counseling, mentoring, transportation assistance, and other court-approved community resources

Prepare written reports, summaries, and recommendations for judicial review as required

Appear in family court proceedings, attendance review hearings, or multidisciplinary team meetings when directed; testify and submit recommendations & reports accordingly

Maintain accurate and confidential case records in compliance with court policy, state law, and record retention requirements

Complete and submit data reports as required by Department of Youth Services -- Subsidy/RECLAIM grant

Support the court's mission by applying trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and restorative practices
