FABRICATION SHOP ESTIMATOR (PLTX):
We are seeking a Fabrication Shop Estimator to join our team in Plano, Texas. The Fabrication Shop Estimator is responsible for determining the accurate cost for producing manufactured products.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
Determining proper material, operations, labor and machines to be utilized in production for each part quoted.
Ensuring all information is obtained to perform job requirements successfully and support any supplier collaborations.
Work with the Fab Shop General Manager, Program Manager and business unit engineering to develop solutions to properly estimate the manufacture of the component; finalize and provide detail quotations.
Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to meet requirements.
Develop and coordinate the implementation and execution of cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects.
Use data-driven approaches to enhance production performance and reduce waste.
Ensure that all necessary materials and supplies are available for department production.
Help coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or tradesperson with industry experience
Minimum of three (3) years of estimating experience in the fabrication industry or equivalent industry experience
Strong knowledge of sheet metal, machining, welding and finish fabrication processes
Experience with CNC machinery, laser cutting, or press brake operations
Robust interpretation of engineering drawings with a solid understanding of GD&T
Strong math, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Project management experience is a strong asset and will help support job planning, coordination, and execution.
Strong time-management skills; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Experience in Aerospace & Defense is considered an asset
Valid Driver's license
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. US Citizenship is a requirement at this location.
