Job Summary and Qualifications
As Manager of Data Analytics & Data Science, you will lead a high-performing analytics and data science team within HCA Healthcare's Risk & Insurance group. This role drives enterprise-level data strategy-transforming complex healthcare and insurance data into actionable insights that mitigate risk, improve patient safety and enhance operational excellence.
A successful candidate combines technical mastery, strategic vision, and servant leadership-building scalable, cloud-based analytics ecosystems using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Power BI, and modern ETL and data warehousing methodologies.

Job Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of data analysts and data scientists focused on insurance and risk analytics
Define and execute the data analytics roadmap, ensuring alignment with HCA's business objectives for reducing business risk and improving patient safety.
Oversee the design and implementation of ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load high-volumes of healthcare and operational data into GCP-based data warehouses (BigQuery).
Architect, optimize, and maintain data warehousing solutions supporting enterprise analytics, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
Drive the creation of Power BI dashboards and visualizations that deliver strategic insight into identifying risk mitigation opportunities and reducing insurance cost drivers
Collaborate with business, clinical, and IT leaders to translate analytics into policy, prevention, and process improvement.
Lead the adoption of machine learning and predictive analytics using AI, BigQuery ML, or Python frameworks to anticipate risks, improve patient safety and effectively manage insurance cost drivers.
Partner with enterprise data engineering teams to align on data integration, storage, and access strategies between on-premise and cloud environments.
Present analytical findings and business recommendations to senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required
Master's degree is Computer Science is preferred
3+ years of experience in data analytics or data science is required
1+ year(s) of experience in a leadership role is required
1+ year(s) of experience in project management is preferred
1+ year(s) of experience in healthcare, insurance or risk management is preferred
Proven expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query, advanced visualization) is required
Expertise in (SQL) and familiar with relational database architecture is required
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery Dataflow, and Cloud Storage is preferred
Strong understanding of ETL design, data warehousing architecture, and data modeling is required
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or R) is preferred
Proven ability to lead through influence, manage competing priorities, and deliver in complex data rich environments is required
Exposure to machine learning concepts or predictive analytics tools is preferred
Excellent problem solving and communication skills is req
Experience working in a fast paced or cross functional environment is a plus
