DEPARTMENT: Building Maintenance, Central New York Regional Transportation Authority SALARY RANGE: $34.30 per hour HOURS OF LABOR: Shifts vary. Summer hours are on or about April 1st thru on or about November 1st 7:00am to 3:30 pm. Winter hours are on or about November 1st thru on or about April 1st 9:00am to 5:30pm (Changing from summer hours to winter hours will be determined by the Director of Facilities Operations depending on the weather). JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for receiving work assignments and will engage in activities required for maintaining all CNYRTA properties. MAJOR DUTIES: Preventative maintenance on all @types of equipment ie: vehicle lifts, HVAC, various @types of shop equipment, small gas engines. Snow and ice removal from parking lots, shelters, and sidewalks at building entrances and connecting walks. Complete grounds work as assigned by the Facilities Manager, which may include picking up trash, mowing, weeding, and maintaining landscaping beds. (Pesticide applicator permit a plus). Move assorted office equipment, desks, shelves and tables. Respond to and complete work orders for building maintenance. Light construction work ie: painting, bus shelter/sign work, masonry. Perform other building maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must possess skills in general equipment maintenance, plumbing, electrical, masonry. Must have the ability to follow work assignments and instructions and work well on your own. Must bring enthusiasm to the job and represent the company in a favorable light to the general public. Must have experience and ability to demonstrate the safe operation of medium to heavy-duty equipment. Must have oxy-acetylene torch and welding ability. Must be able to adapt quickly to a changing environment and pass a physical examination. Must be able to take directions and have own tools. Must be willing to participate in training. Must be able to read and write English. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required. Technical training is a plus. Must be able to pass Centros Facilities Technician test. Must have a valid New York State drivers license with a clean driving record. 4Must have a Class B CDL permit. 5Must be at least 18 years old and in good physical condition.
