This is a temporary, non-tenured, Academic Professional and Administrative (P & A) position as a Teaching Specialist or Lecturer, paid on a per course basis. This posting is designed to establish a pool of instructors. Applications will not be acknowledged, but will be reviewed when such openings occur throughout the academic year. The individual hired will be appointed to a Fall, Spring, Summer, or full year part-time Teaching Specialist or Lecturer in Curriculum and Instruction during academic year 2025-26. Job Responsibilities Teaching (90%) Attend class meetings and deliver course content. Evaluate student performance and submit grading. Respond to student inquiries and meet with students. Course Preparation (10%) Complete orientation and training. Meet with appropriate faculty and gather information as needed. Develop course content and syllabus. Prepare course materials. Qualifications Required Qualifications An earned BA in Education, or a closely related field is required for appointment as a Teaching Specialist An earned doctorate in Education or a closely related field is required for appointment as a Lecturer Evidence of attention to diverse identities in teaching or professional experience, and the commitment to support the University's work in diversity, equity, and inclusion Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a university level About the Department Department Overview The Department of Family Social Science (FSoS) prepares students to use research to discover and apply knowledge, build interpersonal communication skills, and develop personally and professionally.
