About the Patient's Compensation Fund
The Patient's Compensation Fund (PCF) was created in 1975 to provide an affordable and guaranteed medical malpractice coverage system for the private healthcare providers in the state. The Patient's Compensation Fund is a self-funded state entity, operating independently of the main state budget, and governed by the PCF Oversight Board. The Patient's Compensation Fund provides protection for the healthcare system, keeping costs down, and providing a guaranteed pool of funds to pay those citizens injured from medical malpractice of private care providers.
We are a small agency invested in retaining a skilled, productive, engaged, diverse team that we support through training and development, building connections, and supporting a harmonious work life while delivering quality services to the citizens of Louisiana.
Incumbent of this position will serve as the agency receptionist and document imaging and quality control coordinator in the Records Unit. As the first point of contact visitors will encounter, incumbents are to maintain professional verbal and written communication, customer service, and exhibit interpersonal skills. Incumbent will be accountable to share duties between two separate work stations (front desk and imaging station), ambulating from one work area to the other on a rotating schedule. Incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate within the Records Unit and with all staff in the PCF.

Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Processes routine paperwork and/or enters data into a department log or database in the servicing of a client.
Prepares, indexes, and scans documents into imaging system; may ensure quality of scanned images.
Serves as receptionist for the assigned work unit.
May deliver and pick-up various materials.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Maintains department's records system, including filing and retrieving documents, researching files, etc.
Responsible for scanning documents in a manner that content, @context, and structure of the records are preserved. Ensures all documents are indexed with correct metadata.
Disseminates mail and distributes mail to managers.
Prepares documents for imaging, operates electronic scanning equipment, and converts scanned material to digital format
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Full-time, Classified. Probational
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, overtime as needed.
Compensation: Depends on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
NOTE REGARDING THE ADVERSTISED PAY:
This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 2 or Administrative Coordinator 3 level which will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
The actual starting salary depends on the experience of the selected applicant.
