Position Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing processes that ensure safe, compliant, high-quality, and cost-effective production. You will support surface finishing and coating operations by evaluating process performance, material usage, and equipment capability. Working closely with technicians, tooling partners, and cross-functional engineering teams, you will identify issues, implement improvements, and support both daily production needs and longer-term projects. This role is a compelling opportunity to own technically complex processes that directly impact product quality, environmental performance, and manufacturing cost.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing and finishing processes to meet safety, quality, environmental, cost, and production requirements.
Monitor and evaluate coating and finishing processes, including powder or liquid paint systems, to ensure process stability and conformance.
Analyze manufacturing methods, labor standards, material usage, and workstation layouts to improve productivity, material flow, and cost efficiency.
Support waste handling and wastewater-related process controls by reviewing samples, monitoring process indicators, and identifying improvement opportunities.
Partner closely with manufacturing technicians to review daily process adjustments, troubleshoot issues, and maintain consistent operations.
Define tooling, fixturing, and equipment requirements to support current production and new product introduction.
Review product and process designs and recommend changes to improve manufacturability, quality, labor efficiency, and material usage.
Develop and maintain process documentation, standard work instructions, and supporting technical records.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
1+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
Experience supporting coating, finishing, or paint processes, including powder coating and/or liquid paint systems, preferred.
Working knowledge of chemistry fundamentals related to manufacturing processes (e.g., acids, bases, coatings, or material reactions) preferred.
Experience analyzing manufacturing processes, materials, and labor requirements for both current production and new product introduction.
Ability to work directly with technicians and operators to review process performance, adjustments, and improvement opportunities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and long-term improvement initiatives.
