Job Title: AccountantJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage state and local tax filings, particularly focusing on high-volume tasks for entities that require city returns across multiple legal entities. This role involves tax planning and strategy while performing essential bookkeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

Conduct state and local tax filings for multiple legal entities.

Engage in tax planning and strategy.

Perform data entry related to accounts payable and receivable.

Review and process billing and payroll transactions.

Code invoices to appropriate accounts.

Prepare periodic reconciliation reports.

Post cash receipts accurately.

Perform general bookkeeping tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills

Aptitude for quantitative analysis.

Strong proficiency in MS Excel.

Experience in accounting and tax accounting.

Familiarity with corporate accounting practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

BS in Accounting or Finance.

Experience with CorpTax.

Familiarity with Altrix or PowerBI.

Strong organizational skills.

Work Environment

The team consists of 4-5 members who will provide frequent training. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring onsite presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with remote work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Portage, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
