Koniag Information Technology Services (KITS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a senior-level IT Subject Matter Expert to support our Army customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama.

The IT Subject Matter Expert will serve as a trusted advisor to AMC, providing expert guidance on strategic IT initiatives and emerging technologies. This on-site role will focus on providing expert Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to the Army Materiel Command (AMC), analyzing and recommending strategic IT improvements that align with mission objectives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge across multiple IT domains with expertise in emerging technologies and enterprise architecture.
Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Provide senior-level IT Subject Matter Expertise and SETA support to AMC leadership
Analyze, recommend, and implement strategic and tactical improvements to the IT enterprise
Support Command mission objectives and enhance enterprise IT service delivery
Conduct specialized studies on emerging technologies and IT strategies
Document findings in comprehensive technical reports adhering to Industry, DoD, and Army standards
Provide expertise in systems engineering, architecture, data warehousing, Enterprise Content Management (ECM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Evaluate and recommend integration strategies for emerging technologies including:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning
Zero Trust architecture
Cloud computing innovations
Advanced cybersecurity solutions
Perform detailed cost-benefit analyses for proposed IT solutions
Conduct risk assessments and technology trade-off studies
Analyze program implementation plans and technical requirements
Serve as a trusted advisor to Government personnel on complex IT matters
Provide recommendations addressing technology strategies and roadmaps
Conduct gap analyses between current and target state architectures
Evaluate the viability of commercial products for AMC implementation
Prioritize solutions that align with AMC directives and requirements
Recommend approaches to strengthen AMC's security posture through modern methodologies
Facilitate decision-making through objective analysis and independent assessments
Document workshop summaries and detailed technology analyses
Ensure all recommendations align with evolving cybersecurity requirements
Leverage AI-driven insights to enhance analytical capabilities
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
10+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, enterprise architecture, or related roles
5+ years of experience providing senior-level technical advisory services
Demonstrated expertise in multiple IT domains (systems engineering, architecture, data warehousing, ECM, ERP)
Experience evaluating emerging technologies for enterprise implementation
Required Skills and Competencies:
Deep knowledge of enterprise IT systems, architectures, and integration strategies
Expertise in emerging technologies including AI, Zero Trust, and cloud computing
Experience conducting cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments for IT initiatives
Strong understanding of DoD and Army IT standards, policies, and directives
Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Experience developing technology roadmaps and strategic implementation plans
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Exceptional technical writing abilities for reports and documentation
Experience leading specialized studies and technical assessments
Understanding of data warehousing principles and architectures
Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management systems and strategies
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning systems and implementation
Experience evaluating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products
Ability to provide objective, vendor-neutral recommendations
Strong presentation and communication skills
Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field
Technical certifications relevant to enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, or systems engineering
Experience working with Army or DoD IT environments
Knowledge of AMC's mission, structure, and IT landscape
Background in implementing Zero Trust architectures
Experience with AI/ML implementation in government environments
Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and processes
Experience facilitating technical workshops and stakeholder sessions
Background in IT portfolio management and governance
Experience with IT modernization initiatives in large organizations
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and implementation
Understanding of IT service management frameworks
Experience with technology transition planning
Background in technical performance measurement
Knowledge of digital transformation strategies
