Position OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS) is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reconciling financial data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and informed decision-making across the organization.

Compensation Range:

$22.97 - $34.46 per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare journal entries related to cash and investments as part of the month-end closing process.

Conduct detailed account analyses and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

Monitor daily cash activity and perform bank account reconciliations to support financial oversight.

Assist with fixed asset accounting, including tracking capital project expenditures and generating custom reports as needed.

Compile supporting documentation and work papers for annual audits and special financial reviews.

Generate and submit recurring financial reports such as NYS Pool Reports, quarterly sales tax filings, and support other regulatory reporting requirements.

Complete special account analyses and participate in training sessions to effectively implement new systems and tools.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

A.A.S. or A.S. degree in Business or Accounting from an accredited college or university

Preferred:

Experience in public accounting, experience in healthcare

Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in bookkeeping and payroll functions.
