We are seeking a PASSIVATION TECHNICIAN for our FINISHING department! The a PASSIVATION TECHNICIAN will perform various functions such as washing and visually ensuring customer required finishes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to: Accurately passivate parts as required while following customer, ASTM, environmental and safety requirements. Check system prior to passivating. This includes heated tanks, Ph and density levels. Load parts in baskets and move through passivation tanks per customer and ASTM guidelines, and per company passivation Work Instruction. Dry parts with clean compressed air or use clean low lint towels. Examine/visually inspect cleaned parts to ensure conformance to standards. Perform Copper Sulfate test after passivation. Routine maintenance including emptying, cleaning, and refilling tanks as necessary per company passivation Work Instruction. Operate equipment such as a tumbler and use hand tools such as deburring knives, chamfer tools, sheet sandpaper and files to finish parts. Help maintain a production flow schedule for the timely completion of each project. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities. Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to think independently. Must pay attention to detail. Demonstrate an understanding of hazardous chemicals. Ability to read blueprints is a plus. Must be able to work in other areas on an as needed basis. Show initiative in work by being a self starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.
