ENTRY LEVEL 2ND SHIFT WELDING OPPORTUNITY

Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are seeking skilled welders to operate welding equipment for the production of steel and aluminum parts for consumer and industrial storage units and climbing structures. The role requires setting up the welder, making necessary adjustments, and replacing spools of welding wire and tips as needed. Welders will also perform visual and measurement inspections to ensure quality standards are met, using blueprints as guidance.

Responsibilities

Operate welders to produce steel and aluminum parts.

Set up welder, adjust settings, and replace welding wire and tips.

Obtain and place parts on conveyor lines or designated areas.

Perform visual and measurement inspections using blueprints.

Report mechanical problems with the welder to supervisor or maintenance.

Record production output on daily reports including part/model numbers and quantities.

Operate grinder to remove excess burrs and welding wire.

Monitor parts used and notify supervisor of material requirements and shortages.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in MIG welding.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Experience with flux core and fabrication.

Welding certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a production welding environment.

Ability to work in a true production format with multiple stations.

Work Environment

The facility is clean, well-lit, and comfortable despite not being temperature-controlled. The work environment consists of multiple production lines, with respectful supervisors who maintain an open-door policy. The role is primarily on the 2nd shift, operating from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and mandatory Saturday hours. The position offers a shift differential for work beyond regular hours.

This is a Permanent position based out of McHenry, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $49920.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
