Description

We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join a collaborative legal team in Lakewood on a Contract-to-hire basis, with the potential for longer-term opportunity. This role focuses on probate and estate-related matters and is well suited for someone who is comfortable supporting attorneys in both transactional and litigation-driven work. The ideal candidate brings prior law firm experience, a proactive approach to case support, and the ability to contribute positively within a close-knit office environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage probate and estate administration matters from file opening through closing, ensuring deadlines and court requirements are met.

Prepare, organize, and file legal documents related to wills, trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, and other elder law matters.

Support attorneys with litigation activities, including discovery coordination, document review, and case file maintenance.

Assist with trial and hearing preparation by compiling exhibits, organizing evidence, and coordinating necessary materials.

Maintain accurate case records using case management software and keep matter status updates current.

Communicate with clients, courts, and outside parties in a thorough and organized manner to gather information and support ongoing matters.

Track schedules, filings, and procedural milestones to help ensure matters move forward efficiently.

Requirements

At least 3-5+ years of paralegal experience, preferably within a law firm setting.

Hands-on background in probate, estate planning, trusts, wills, elder law, guardianship, or conservatorship matters.

Experience supporting civil litigation matters, including discovery and trial preparation.

Proficiency with case management software and strong document organization skills.

Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented and team-oriented approach.

Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a close-knit team environment.
