Description We are looking for a strategic finance specialist to support commercial decision-making for a manufacturing business in California. This position will work closely with sales and cross-functional leaders to evaluate performance, strengthen forecasting, and identify opportunities to improve margins and profitable growth. The ideal candidate brings strong FP& A capability along with hands-on experience analyzing pricing, product performance, and customer profitability in a product-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

Partner with sales leadership to deliver financial insight that supports revenue planning, customer strategy, and profitable growth initiatives.

Develop and maintain forecasts, budgets, and financial models that measure commercial performance and guide business decisions.

Analyze pricing trends, gross margin results, and profitability by customer and product to highlight risks and opportunities.

Prepare recurring and ad hoc reporting on sales performance, forecast accuracy, and key business drivers for leadership review.

Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to connect commercial plans with inventory levels, cost impacts, and operational outcomes.

Evaluate variances against plan, forecast, and prior periods, and explain results through clear financial narratives and data-driven recommendations.

Support decision-making with detailed modeling and data analysis related to product mix, volume changes, and business performance scenarios.

Contribute to financial planning processes by improving reporting quality, streamlining analysis, and ensuring alignment across functional teams. Requirements - Experience in FP& A within a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting a product-based business.

Background in commercial finance or sales finance with direct partnership experience with sales leadership.

Strong ability to perform pricing, margin, and profitability analysis across customers, products, and channels.

Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.

Knowledge of inventory-related finance concepts and the financial drivers tied to operations and supply chain activities.

Advanced analytical skills, including ad hoc reporting, data mining, and translating complex information into actionable business insight.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
