Application Support Technician

Maximus is hiring Application Support Technicians (ASTs) to support the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). In this role, you will review, validate, and enter data across multiple systems, ensure accurate transaction processing, resolve data discrepancies, and maintain quality and productivity standards while following established procedures.

Maximus provides paid, comprehensive training to prepare ASTs with the knowledge and tools needed to support critical health and human services programs for Texas residents.

Please note, these are Full-time, Hybrid/Remote roles- you will do equipment training for 1 day at the site office located in Edinburg, Texas and all training will be completed from home.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Use the appropriate designated work instructions and other instructions to execute critical and routine tasks.

Retrieve documents and data from authorized data bases to perform routine tasks that may include data entering new information, validation of data, corrections or updates to existing information and documentation of findings.

Accurately data enter all appropriate information in multiple eligibility and tracking systems.

Follow extensive work instructions and prescribed department procedures to make timely and accurate selections in the processing of transactions.

Determine if an image requires an appointment to be re-scheduled.

Meet individual and unit performance goals and standards as defined by management.

Attend and successfully complete job related and industry specific systems and policy training as required to perform the duties of the position.

Review and analyze discrepancies in data received, request clarification and effectively raises queries to the team supervisor to resolve uncertainties and questions.

Minimum Requirements

'- High School diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of experience.

Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

Communicates more complex information, using job experience to anticipate and proactively address related questions.

'- Proficient typing skills

Strong organizational and work prioritization abilities

Consistently showcases a strong sense of urgency and performs well under pressure

Fundamental computer proficiency in Windows and/or Mac

Skilled in the use of Teams

Office experience preferred

Must work and reside within Texas

Must reside in or within 70 miles of Edinburg, TX

Must be able to work onsite during equipment training for half day and complete classroom and on-the-job training with no time missed.

Availability to work any 8-hour shift Monday to Friday between office hours between 8am - 8pm

Home Office Requirements:

Web camera is required for all Maximus and agency staff during training, meetings, or as requested by management with expectation of participation, adequate lighting and visibility

Internet must be a traditional, wired high-speed connection such as cable or fiber

Services that connect via a cellular network (mobile hotspot, fixed wireless, etc.) or satellite are incompatible

Must be able disable modem firewalls to ensure proper VPN and product access

High-speed internet service is required, with minimum of 20 Mbps download & 5 Mbps upload

Must be able to connect your computer directly to your modem or router via ethernet cable

Wi-Fi connections through cellular networks, mobile hotspots, fixed wireless, or satellite are not permitted

Maximus will supply your computer equipment
