Food Prep / Cook Job Summary We are seeking a dependable Food Prep/Cook to join our small, fast-paced restaurant team. This position is responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and helping ensure customers receive fresh, quality food. Essential Duties and Responsibilities -Prepare and portion ingredients for daily food service. -Cook and assemble menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards. Prepare traditional ethnic foods and specialty dishes as directed. -Operate kitchen equipment safely, including grills, fryers, ovens, and food processors. -Maintain proper food temperatures and follow food safety and sanitation procedures. -Keep food preparation areas, equipment, and kitchen surfaces clean and organized. -Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies. -Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies are running low. -Maintain proper portion control and minimize food waste. -Package takeout orders accurately and ensure food is presented properly. -Assist customers when needed and provide friendly, courteous service. Qualifications -Previous food preparation or cooking experience preferred, but willing to train. -Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. -Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures. -Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team. -Ability to stand for extended periods and lift food supplies as needed. -Friendly attitude and good communication skills. Work Environment This is a hands-on position in a busy, small-restaurant environment. The ideal candidate is a team player who takes pride in preparing fresh, flavorful food and providing good customer service.
