Job Description
The Customer Service Specialist plays a vital role in building and maintaining strong customer relationships while serving as the primary point of contact for account communication, order management, and customer support. This position works cross-functionally with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Accounting teams to ensure customer expectations are met, orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, and strategic account objectives are achieved.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, and skilled at managing complex orders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports customer satisfaction, sales growth, and revenue objectives through proactive communication, problem-solving, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments across all manufacturing sites.
Manage customer purchase orders from receipt through shipment, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Coordinate order scheduling, shipment confirmations, and follow-up activities to ensure customer satisfaction.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and responsive support.
Support sales growth by identifying opportunities, addressing customer needs, and contributing to strategic account goals.
Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations teams to support production schedules and delivery commitments.
Analyze and communicate product costs, pricing, margins, and customer requirements.
Support Regional Sales Managers by providing quotes, pricing information, delivery updates, and customer feedback.
Prepare and maintain customer quotations, RFQs (Requests for Quote), and order documentation.
Generate and distribute sales reports, backlog reports, sales projections, and other customer-related metrics for management review.
Resolve customer issues using creative problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, contractual requirements, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of customer service, account management, or customer support experience within a manufacturing, contract manufacturing (EMS), or related industry.
Experience processing and managing customer purchase orders, including large or complex orders with multiple line items.
Experience preparing customer quotations and responding to RFQs.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (system experience required; specific platform not required).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Typing speed of 60+ words per minute.
Ability to obtain and maintain ITAR compliance eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience supporting aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
Experience with high-mix, low-volume or made-to-order manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of order management, supply chain processes, and production scheduling.
Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and drive customer satisfaction.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
