Job Title: Driver / Material Handler - Second Shift Job Description
This role combines professional driving with hands-on material handling in a modern, air-conditioned manufacturing and warehouse environment. You will operate an 18-foot flatbed truck for local routes in the Mesa area while supporting shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, stocking, and inventory activities. Approximately 70% of your time will be spent driving and 30% on material handling and warehouse tasks during the second shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Responsibilities
Operate an 18-foot Penske flatbed truck safely for local deliveries and pickups within the Mesa area.
Transport materials between facilities and customer locations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Perform material handling duties, including loading and unloading trucks using appropriate equipment and safe lifting techniques.
Support shipping and receiving operations by checking in materials, verifying documentation, and organizing incoming and outgoing shipments.
Assist with basic stocking and inventory activities, including placing materials in designated locations and helping track inventory levels.
Handle warehouse tasks such as staging materials, maintaining orderly storage areas, and preparing items for shipment.
Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to facility safety guidelines.
Work partially outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, while maintaining safety and productivity.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate deliveries, prioritize tasks, and support smooth workflow across driving and warehouse activities.
Participate in training on first shift for several weeks to learn machines, processes, and facility procedures before transitioning fully to second shift.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience.
Minimum of 2 years of material handling or warehouse experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to safely lift and move 50+ pounds as part of daily duties.
Capability to work partially outside in the heat and adapt to changing environmental conditions.
Experience with loading and unloading trucks and handling materials in a warehouse setting.
Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required for material handling tasks.
Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to handle materials and operate equipment safely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment in a warehouse environment.
Comfort working on an 18-foot flatbed truck and managing loads securely.
Ability to climb portable ladders when needed for accessing or organizing materials.
Willingness to use required personal protective equipment in accordance with safety policies.
Strong attention to detail when handling inventory, shipping documents, and material counts.
Reliable work ethic and ability to work a consistent second shift schedule (Monday-Thursday, 4:00 p.m.-1:30 a.m.).

Work Environment
You will work primarily in an air-conditioned manufacturing and warehouse facility equipped with modern, industry 4.0 technology in Mesa, Arizona, with some duties performed outdoors in the heat. The position is on second shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with a 10% shift differential applied to hours worked during second shift. Initial training will take place on first shift for several weeks to ensure a strong understanding of machines, processes, and procedures. The role requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, as well as climbing portable ladders when necessary. You will regularly lift and move up to 35 pounds and must be able to lift 50+ pounds for certain tasks. Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are essential for handling materials and operating equipment. Personal protective equipment is required and provided, and the facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and efficient material flow throughout the workday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.30/hr.
