Description We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to support a litigation practice in Flint, Michigan. This role involves managing a varied caseload, conducting legal analysis, preparing persuasive filings, and representing clients through key stages of the litigation process. The ideal candidate brings strong courtroom judgment, effective written advocacy, and the ability to work independently across multiple civil matters.

Responsibilities:

Manage civil litigation matters from early case assessment through resolution while maintaining progress across deadlines and court requirements.

Conduct legal research and translate findings into well-supported motions, briefs, and other case-related documents.

Prepare for and take depositions, including witness questioning, fact development, and use of testimony to strengthen case strategy.

Oversee discovery activities by drafting requests and responses, reviewing produced materials, and identifying critical evidence.

Represent clients in hearings and other court appearances with clear oral advocacy and sound procedural judgment.

Evaluate claims involving areas such as commercial disputes, premises liability, transportation incidents, negligence, property damage, construction issues, and personal injury.

Review medical documentation and other technical records to assess relevance, damages, and litigation strategy.

Collaborate with internal legal teams and clients to develop case plans, communicate status updates, and support timely case resolution. Requirements

At least 3 years of experience practicing in litigation, with the ability to handle matters independently.

Demonstrated background in civil litigation, including drafting motions, briefs, and discovery-related documents.

Practical deposition experience with confidence in witness examination and case preparation.

Admission as a licensed attorney, with knowledge applicable to litigation matters in Michigan.

Strong command of legal research, written advocacy, and clear, detail-focused communication.

Working knowledge of Michigan Court Rules, Rules of Evidence, and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Courtroom experience that includes motion practice and effective oral argument.

Prior clerkship experience with a judge or appellate court is preferred
