JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the Director of Technology Support will supervisor, coach, train and mentor the teams responsible for supporting technology in the areas of Audio/Visual, Transportation Technology, Computer Repair and end user support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recruit, develop and manage teams of highly educated and trained employees.
Oversee schedules, priorities, and assignments to ensure efficient operation and achievement.
Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships and communication with supervisors, other departments, staff, and school-based leadership.
Maintain knowledge of administrative principles and practices including goal setting, the formal bid process, and program budget development and implementation.
Project management including monitoring project progress, and resolving problems to ensure quality standards as well as the assessed needs of District users are met.
Proven track record with developing project plans, building scope requirements, monitoring progress, communicating to stakeholders, executing the project plan and leading project work to completion.
Oversea development and upkeep of knowledge base for technical support teams.
Interpersonal communication and presentations including motivating, negotiating, mediating, diagnosing personel problems and recommending solutions.
Training individuals and groups on technical material, policies and procedures.
Evaluate staff performance including strengths and weaknesses of individual staff members.
Meet with users to determine quality of service and to identify areas for improvement.
Maintain an understanding of best practices for end user support models at all levels of the District including: elementary, middle, high, CTE, district office, and special programs
Maintain an understanding of software implementation, testing and maintenance.
Communication both orally and in writing. Ability to translate technical data and information into an easily understood format. Train both technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability and competency in personnel conflict management and resolution. Must be able to work with various personality @types to ensure team unity and coherence.
High level inventory management and device life cycle planning along with ability to build plans and budget for hardware refresh cycles for all students and staff primary devices.
Ability to manage fleet of government subsidized Hot Spots for students in need of internet connectivity.
Predictable and reliable attendance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Incumbent must be fingerprinted and clear a criminal backgrounds check.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in information technology management, computer science, software engineering, or related field.
Requires five (5) years technical management and leadership work experience with demonstrated competence.
Requires five (5) years' experience providing excellent customer service, with a focus on end user support at a variety of levels and in all areas across the District.
Experience with K-12 administrative applications is preferred.
Knowledge of Windows, Apple MacOS and iOS, and Google ChromeOS environments preferred.
Requires effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with others to support the concept of teamwork and customer service. Has significant interaction with personnel representing all aspects of the IT Department, District administrators, principals, school/office staffs, State agencies and the vendor community.
Ability to analyze and understand end-use needs (groups and individuals) and conduct computer systems training as needed.
Ability to develop general business knowledge of K-12 public education.
Ability to determine how to effectively address multiple priorities at one time.
Ability to handle unusual software and hardware problems and to meet deadlines.
Program flow and accuracy are critical.
Ability to work well with frequent interruptions.
Requires a valid Utah driver license.
NOTE: The Administration reserves the right to require specific training for this position. However, depending upon the @type and quality of prior work experience and availability of formal training programs, some exchanges can be made between training and experience.
