Information specific to this position: PSD is hosting a Paraprofessional Hiring Event on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 8:00 am -- 1:00 pm, where registered applicants will be able to connect with hiring teams from participating schools and departments and take part in interviews on the spot. Multiple positions at various locations available. Positions will range between 3 and 8 hours per day.

Pay Range: $18.35-$20.55/hour (min -- 12% above min), based on qualifications and experience

Work calendar days: 185

Duration of position: Ongoing

SUMMARY: **

Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with implementing instruction and/or reinforcing learning skills in oneon-one, small, and/or large student groups. Assist with preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, documenting student achievement, and/or monitoring students.

JOB TASKS:

Assist the classroom teacher with implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills in one-on-one, small, and/or large student groups. Implement and support the teacher's instruction plan.

Assist teacher in preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, and/or documenting student achievement.

Monitor students in classroom and during breaks, lunch, recess, time outs, on field trips, getting on and off the bus, etc. Reinforce school-wide discipline procedures.

Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.

Assist teacher and/or administration with special projects.

Attend appropriate in-services, building meetings, training, IEP meetings, parent conferences, and/or school functions.

Administer state testing (TCAP) in small groups.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent

One year of related experience

Experience working with students in a school setting preferred

Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable

Criminal background check required for hire
