Summary You will serve as a GG-2210-13 IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at the HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER in Suitland, MD. As a forward deployed Region Information System Security Manager (RISSM) for Information Assurance (IA), Information Security (IS),and Cyber Security, including Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) systems/networks, you will provide guidance, policies, and oversight for day-to-day security operations. Responsibilities You will facilitate program requirements and objectives by providing guidance, policies, and oversight for the day-to-day security operations for command Information Assurance Managers (IAM). You will enforce and provide Information Security/Assurance and Cyber Security policies and directives for Navy and Marine Corps Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) customers. You will provide detailed reports on Information Assurance requirements/compliance, security incidents/violations, and maintain applicable databases in accordance with policies and procedures. You will provide comprehensive Information Assurance Security and Incident Response training to personnel responsible for Sensitive Compartmented Information systems. You will assist with the Privilege User (PU) and Authorized-to-Operate (ATO) process by ensuring requests are properly submitted and processed in a timely manner. You will monitor daily Information System Security Manager-related database/queues such as Quick Media Requests (QMR) and provide status to the Hopper Information System Security Manager. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position requires one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Manages end-to-end data lifecycles, including transmission, storage, quality assurance, and high-speed data switching. Directs complex installations, operations, and lifecycle maintenance for mainframe, minicomputer, microcomputer, and modern desktop technologies. Leads technical acquisitions and integrations of major enterprise hardware and software platforms. Develops novel methodologies and technical procedures to resolve highly complex, non-routine IT challenges. Interprets federal/organizational IT policies and recommends the adoption of emerging technologies. Diagnoses, analyzes, and resolves critical systems, software, and hardware bottlenecks. Tests and optimizes data transfers across enterprise networks, backbones, and hybrid environments. Conducts rigorous risk assessments and reviews certification and accreditation (C&A/A&A) documentation for compliance. Develops and hardens system security processes to proactively mitigate vulnerabilities.
