Reporting directly to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineering Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership for a team of Test Engineers and Test Technicians responsible for validating products prior to release. The ideal candidate brings proven people leadership experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a hands-on technical background involving machinery, equipment, vehicles, industrial systems, or similar technologies.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Test Engineers and Test Technicians.
Coordinate testing priorities, resources, and project schedules across multiple development programs.
Monitor testing progress and ensure milestones align with product release timelines.
Support validation efforts involving mechanical systems, electrical systems, software functionality, and end-user usability.
Collaborate with engineering teams to identify product issues, improve reliability, and enhance customer experience.
Drive process improvements that increase testing efficiency, consistency, and overall team effectiveness.
Communicate project status, testing results, and recommendations to leadership.
Serve as a technical resource supporting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and product evaluation activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
Previous experience leading, supervising, or managing technical employees, including responsibility for coaching, performance management, and employee development.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience working with machinery, equipment, vehicles, electromechanical systems, or industrial products.
Ability to understand how physical products operate, fail, and are repaired.
Experience in testing, product validation, manufacturing, quality, product development, or related engineering disciplines is preferred.
Automotive, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, diesel engine, aerospace, or similar industry experience is highly desirable.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
