Position Summary

The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team, ensuring a seamless employee experience throughout the onboarding and employment lifecycle. This role will support new hire administration, employee records, compliance activities, and various HR projects while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

New Hire & Onboarding Support

Coordinate and process new hire paperwork and onboarding activities.

Complete I-9 employment eligibility verification and maintain compliance records.

Assist with background checks, employment verifications, and onboarding documentation.

Schedule orientation sessions and communicate onboarding details to new employees.

Prepare employee files and maintain accurate HR records.

HR Administrative Support

Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy within HRIS systems.

Process personnel changes, including status updates and employee documentation.

Assist with leave administration and benefits-related paperwork.

Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.

Prepare reports, correspondence, and HR-related documentation.

Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives.

Employee Support & Compliance

Assist with employee relations matters and escalate issues as appropriate.

Help maintain compliance with federal, state, and company employment policies.

Support audit requests and maintain confidential personnel information.

Assist with tracking training records and employee certifications.

Coordinate employee events, recognition programs, and internal communications.

Partner closely with HR team members and cross-functional departments to ensure timely support.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

2+ years of HR, Human Resources Assistant, HR Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, or related experience.

Experience handling onboarding, new hire paperwork, and I-9 verification.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.

Highly task-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience supporting a manufacturing or corporate environment is a plus.

Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and HR compliance practices is highly desirable.

Experience with HRIS systems, onboarding platforms, and document management systems is preferred.
