Outside Sales Representative, Medley, FL
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to help expand a growing concrete block manufacturing business that serves masonry contractors and construction projects throughout South Florida. In this field-based role, you will spend most of your time on job sites and at customer locations, building strong relationships, identifying new opportunities, and promoting concrete block solutions tailored to each project's needs. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth by developing new business, strengthening existing accounts, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction and masonry contractor market across South Florida.
Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Conduct regular job site visits and in-person client meetings to understand project requirements and present appropriate product solutions.
Deliver clear and professional product presentations that highlight the benefits and applications of concrete block solutions.
Partner closely with contractors and project stakeholders to understand project specifications and recommend suitable concrete block products.
Generate accurate quotes and bids for upcoming projects and follow up consistently to convert opportunities into sales.
Track and manage sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions to ensure timely follow-up and a healthy sales pipeline.
Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and upcoming construction projects to identify and pursue new opportunities.
Collaborate with internal operations and production teams to coordinate orders, ensure timely delivery, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Represent the company professionally in the field, maintaining a strong presence with contractors, project managers, and other decision-makers.
Essential Skills
2-3+ years of sales experience, with a preference for outside sales roles.
Experience in construction, building materials, or a closely related industry strongly preferred.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and generate new business.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with contractors and project decision-makers.
Self-motivated and disciplined, with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
Ability to learn and understand technical product lines and their applications in construction projects.
Customer service mindset with a focus on responsiveness and follow-through.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for client visits.
Sales and business development skills, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing opportunities.
Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is beneficial for working with a diverse client base in South Florida.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Expereince in construction sales or experience selling building materials is a strong plus.
Familiarity with masonry contractors, construction processes, and job site dynamics.
Ability to deliver clear and persuasive product presentations to groups and individuals.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, quotes, and follow-ups simultaneously.
Comfort using basic tools to track sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions.
Spanish language skills are highly advantageous for engaging with a broader range of clients.
Work Environment
You will work for a small, family-owned company that values close relationships with its customers and a hands-on approach to service. This is a field-based position that requires you to be on-site either at the company's office or at construction job sites for a total of approximately 40 hours per week. The standard schedule is generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility required based on client availability and project needs. You will spend significant time outdoors on active construction sites, interacting directly with contractors, project managers, and other decision-makers. The role involves local travel throughout South Florida, and you will represent the company professionally in a variety of field environments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $28.84/hr.
