Electrical Engineer (Controls / Embedded Systems)

What You'll Do

Lead the design and development of control systems for complex electromechanical products

Define system requirements and translate them into control logic, firmware, and specifications

Design, tune, and validate control algorithms

Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, etc.)

Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver cohesive systems

Support product launch, manufacturing readiness, and system validation

Troubleshoot issues across development, production, and fielded systems

Work with external partners and vendors to support development efforts

Contribute to continuous improvement through testing, documentation, and performance analysis

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)

Experience with electromechanical systems and system-level integration

Strong foundation in controls, embedded systems, and hardware/software interaction

Hands-on experience with:

Embedded systems / firmware (C/C++)

Microcontrollers and control systems

Electrical schematics and system design

Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, J1939, Modbus, SPI, I2C

Experience with system testing, debugging, and validation

Strong problem-solving skills in cross-functional environments

Nice to Have

PLC / industrial automation experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff)

Experience supporting products from development through launch and field support

Exposure to vendor management or outsourced development

Experience in regulated or high-reliability industries

Marine, automotive, or other ruggedized environments

Work Environment

Based in Pompano Beach, FL, in an engineering and manufacturing setting

Blend of desk-based design work and hands-on system testing

Occasional travel for on-site troubleshooting and customer support (including marine environments)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pompano Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $63.00/hr.
