The Get Ready Ambassador (GRA) will provide current, lived-experiences as a peer-to-peer mentor to support current high school students as they explore their post secondary pathway journey and opportunities. GRA's will conduct targeted and timely communication outreach with guidance, training, and support from the Get Ready Scholarship and Alumna Services Specialist (SASS) and External Outreach Manager (EOM) for +2,500 high school seniors from capacity partner high schools and outreach high schools. GRA's will also support Get Ready sponsored programs and events (ex: annual Get Ready Post Secondary Pathways Conference, college application completion days, financial aid nights, and workshops) as student panelists and co-presenters to share their unique perspective and knowledge on post-secondary topics. GRA's will also help Get Ready to gather testimonies and data, as well as engage in focus group discussions to assist with program development and improvements. GRA's will also support large batch data entry to assist the Get Ready program in meeting deadlines for annual and quarterly reporting needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current college sophomore, junior, or senior attending an accredited Minnesota based institution of higher learning.

Must have good interpersonal communication skills and be willing to engage in public speaking as presenter.

Must be in satisfactory academic standing. Submission of academic transcripts required.

Ability to travel to school sites required for workshop events related to college and career readiness.

Preferred Qualifications

Get Ready/GEAR UP partner high school graduate .

Eligible for federal or state financial aid work study program.

Interest in education, social work/social services, psychology, public administration.

Knowledge of the college and career readiness process. Particularly around college admission process and deadlines, FAFSA filing, financial aid verification, scholarship searches, etc.

Preferred institutions include University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, with preference for students currently enrolled.

Physical Requirements

Ability to position self and move sufficiently to perform repetitive tasks

Maintain a stationary position for long periods of time

Ability to carry up to 20 pounds of weight on an infrequent bases
