Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a contract Scientist in Waltham, MA. This opportunity offers a pay rate of $55.86/hour. Pay rate may depend on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Position Overview

Join an innovative research and development team focused on advancing genomic medicine and accelerating the development of life-changing therapies. This role will support analytical development activities through the development, validation, and transfer of molecular biology-based analytical methods used for the characterization and release of viral and non-viral therapeutics.

The ideal candidate will have a strong molecular biology background, hands-on laboratory experience, and expertise in PCR-based assay development and sample testing. This is a primarily laboratory-based position with limited responsibilities outside of lab work and team meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Perform sample testing and analytical assays to support therapeutic development programs

Develop, optimize, validate, and transfer PCR-based analytical methods

Execute and troubleshoot qPCR, dPCR, and ddPCR assays

Analyze experimental data and communicate findings to cross-functional teams

Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with established procedures

Support analytical method qualification and validation activities

Adhere to cGMP requirements and quality standards

Collaborate with research, development, quality, and manufacturing teams as needed

Participate in laboratory investigations and continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and documentation requirements

Qualifications

Required:

Master's degree with 2+ years of industry experience, OR

Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of industry experience, OR

Recent PhD graduates will be considered

Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques and assay development

Experience performing sample testing in an industry laboratory environment

Strong understanding of PCR-based technologies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred:

Experience with dPCR/ddPCR

Experience using QuantStudio 5 PCR Systems

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) experience

Cell biology or cell culture experience

Bioassay development experience

Experience working in a cGMP environment

Work Environment

Primarily laboratory-based role

Fast-paced research and development environment

Collaborative, cross-functional team setting

Minimal responsibilities outside of laboratory work and team meetings

Pay Details: $55.86 per hour
