Job Title: General Production Worker $18/HR
FIRST SHIFT
Job Description
This entry-level General Production Worker role supports multiple functions within a meat-processing production facility. You will perform a variety of general labor tasks, help maintain a clean and sanitary environment, and assist with equipment, materials, and product handling to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations.
Responsibilities
Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for meat processing, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP regulations.
Maintain all production areas in clean and sanitary condition to support food safety and quality standards.
Identify and promptly communicate any issues that could lead to unsanitary conditions to appropriate leadership.
Remove product and packing materials from the floor to keep work areas safe and organized.
Support the collection, opening, and reuse of rework materials while ensuring proper identification of product and line to prevent cross-contamination and allergen issues.
Assist in relieving co-workers for breaks, which may involve performing duties in other positions as needed.
Accurately complete all assigned paperwork and documentation.
Help train new employees by demonstrating proper procedures and reinforcing safety and quality standards.
Check in with area leadership before the end of the shift to receive additional pass-down information or shutdown tasks.
Visually inspect cases to ensure they are properly labeled and display clear, legible code dates.
Make basic adjustments to machinery to facilitate smooth production, including changing tape, code dates, ink, paper, film, cardboard, or pallets.
Operate a manual hand jack as needed to move materials or product.

Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Comfort working in cold storage or cold food environments, including meat and food production settings.
Ability to use both hands as necessary for handling, arranging, and processing product and materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general labor, general production, packing, or food manufacturing environments is beneficial.
Experience working in cold storage or cold food facilities is an asset.
Familiarity with meat, meat cutting, or meat-processing operations is advantageous.
Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing and meat-processing facility with active production lines and moving mechanical parts. You will regularly work around equipment and may occasionally be in high or elevated areas. The environment includes both colder areas (around 30 degrees) and warmer temperature zones, and the noise level is typically high, requiring comfort working in a loud, fast-paced setting. The position is physically demanding and involves standing and walking constantly throughout the shift; using hands and fingers to handle or feel products and materials; reaching with hands and arms; and climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed. You will frequently lift and carry at least 50 pounds and use both hands to perform tasks safely and efficiently. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
