Job Description
This Senior Manufacturing Engineer III role focuses on leading and optimizing sheet metal fabrication processes within a hands-on manufacturing environment. The position drives capacity expansion, continuous improvement, and operational excellence by defining processes, designing and implementing equipment and tooling, and ensuring Design for Manufacturability in new product introductions. The engineer plays a key role in transforming facilities, supporting technology transfers, and sustaining high-performing sheet metal fabrication value streams.
Responsibilities
Own the layout of manufacturing areas and define production processes to support capacity growth and continuous improvement initiatives.
Design, select, justify, and implement equipment, programs, and tooling that support sheet metal fabrication operations and long-term business objectives.
Support the successful integration of Design for Manufacturability principles into New Product Introductions that involve sheet metal components.
Contribute to facility transformation and technology transfer activities related to sheet metal fabrication value streams, ensuring smooth transitions and stable operations.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and process documentation that support consistent and efficient sheet metal fabrication.
Apply demand-driven principles and strategies to support operational excellence, focusing on flexibility, speed, and responsiveness to customer needs.
Ensure that product, material, and information flows are synchronized to achieve maximum efficiency and the lowest cost of operation in sheet metal fabrication areas.
Generate and contribute innovative ideas to improve business results, particularly within sheet metal fabrication operations.
Deploy standard tools, methodologies, standards, practices, and processes to drive consistency and best practices across manufacturing operations.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and meeting fulfillment requirements.
Work closely with shop floor personnel to promote ongoing continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, systems, and controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that process improvements and equipment changes align with overall manufacturing and business strategies.
Support welding and fabrication operations, particularly those involving MIG welding and the use of Amada and Salvagnini fabrication equipment, to ensure quality and productivity.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
Minimum 10 years of experience with sheet metal fabrication processes, with a strong focus on welding and fabrication.
Hands-on expertise in MIG welding within a production environment.
Experience working with Amada fabrication equipment.
Experience working with Salvagnini fabrication equipment.
Strong experience in industrial engineering principles applied to manufacturing environments.
Proven experience in process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Practical knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies.
Ability to define, document, and standardize manufacturing processes, policies, and procedures.
Capability to design, select, and justify manufacturing equipment and tooling for sheet metal fabrication.
Skill in coordinating and optimizing product, material, and information flows within manufacturing value streams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Design for Manufacturability in New Product Introductions, particularly for sheet metal components.
Supporting facility transformations and technology transfers in manufacturing environments.
Ability to implement demand-driven principles that enhance flexibility, speed, and responsiveness.

Work Environment
This role is based in a hands-on manufacturing facility environment at the Eagle location, where the engineer works closely with shop floor personnel and production equipment. The position involves frequent presence on the production floor in sheet metal fabrication areas, supporting operations that utilize MIG welding and advanced fabrication equipment such as Amada and Salvagnini systems. The environment emphasizes continuous improvement, lean manufacturing practices, and demand-driven operations, with a strong focus on flexibility, speed, and responsiveness to customer needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagle, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
