Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
This Mechanical Engineer role focuses on the engineering and design of water treatment equipment and systems for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects. You will create detailed 3D models and engineering documentation, support system design and procurement, and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality project outcomes. The position offers exposure to custom-engineered systems and clear opportunities for long-term growth into senior engineering or project management roles.
Responsibilities
Develop 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and layouts for water treatment equipment and systems.
Produce comprehensive engineering documentation, including general arrangement drawings, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, mechanical details, and bills of materials (BOMs).
Assist with the standardization and improvement of internal engineering documents and drawing packages to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Review project plans and specifications to determine equipment requirements, project scope, and design parameters.
Support system design for pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, and related process equipment, ensuring designs meet performance and quality requirements.
Coordinate with vendors, fabrication shops, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely project execution.
Support procurement by assisting with equipment and material selection based on technical requirements and project needs.
Track engineering deliverables and assist with project scheduling to keep projects on time and aligned with milestones.
Coordinate internally between engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales teams to maintain clear communication and alignment.
Assist with submittal package development and preparation of customer documentation.
Help resolve fabrication, design, and installation-related issues as projects progress, providing practical and timely engineering support.
Improve standard product models, engineering workflows, and drawing organization to streamline project delivery.
Support the development of standardized assemblies and reusable engineering templates.
Participate in product improvement and system enhancement initiatives to advance overall system performance and reliability.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
1-5 years of relevant engineering or mechanical design experience preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineered systems.
Proficiency with 3D CAD software, with Inventor preferred; SolidWorks or similar platforms also considered.
Experience with AutoCAD and engineering drawing development.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with mechanical and process systems, including pumps, valves, piping, and instrumentation.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active projects and priorities simultaneously.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF editing tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working on municipal or industrial infrastructure or process-related projects.
Experience in custom-engineered equipment systems or water treatment applications.
Interest in product improvement, system enhancements, and continuous improvement of engineering workflows.
Desire to grow into engineering or project management roles over time.
Comfort working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales teams.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, primarily in-office position based in Savannah, GA. You will work closely with experienced engineers and project teams in a collaborative environment focused on delivering custom-engineered water treatment systems. The role involves regular use of 3D CAD tools such as Inventor or SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and PDF editing software. Travel is minimal, with less than 10% required for occasional site visits as needed. The work environment supports professional growth, exposure to real municipal and industrial infrastructure projects, and participation in a growing organization with significant expansion opportunities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $55.29/hr.
