Summary This position is located in Canandaigua, New York, in support of the Women Veterans Call Center (WVCC), the only VA call center dedicated to only serving women veterans. The incumbent actively assists the WVCC Director in overseeing the entire WVCC Operation, including overall planning,direction, and execution of responsibilities. Responsibilities Under the guidance of the WVCC Director, provides supervision to WVCC employees through the WVCC leadership and supervisory structure. Supervised staff includes staff ranging from GS-6 through GS-7. Provides or is contacted by staff to provide instructions, guidance, and advice on work assignments. Assists staff with responses to stressful situations/calls and basic administrative issues. Assists in the selection of new employees. conducts performance appraisals and resolves employees complaints or grievances. Manages WVCC Training and Quality programs . Works collaboratively with multiple other departments and call centers to promote state-or-theme-art business and technoloqy systems to support WVCC operations. Assists in seamlessly coordinating planning and operational programming concepts from Office of Women's Health with facility operations, integrating concepts and techniques crucial to women services with overarching budgetary, Human Resources (HR), training, timekeeping, etc. Assists in ensuring that issues/complaints rose by women veterans, their families and/or stakeholders are fully addressed. Effectively deals with conflicts and conflict resolution. Assists in directing an ongoing process assessment quality improvement program to identify and implement continuous improvements to service. Identifies and recommends potential areas for improvement to the WVCC Director. Examines and designs operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing new strategies and procedures, as necessary, in response to data. Assists with developing fiscal year plans that meet the objectives of current and proposed programs. Ensures budget aligns with resource needs. Protects integrity of the budget, position management, classification and other processes to ensure compliance with existing regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned.
