Job Title: 2nd Shift Quality Inspector
Job Description
The 2nd Shift Quality Inspector performs detailed inspections of metal and aerospace components using precision measuring tools to ensure products meet strict quality and technical specifications. This role supports a high-volume manufacturing and repair environment by verifying dimensional accuracy, interpreting blueprints, and documenting inspection results in accordance with established quality standards and processes.
Responsibilities
Perform dimensional and visual inspections on metal and aerospace components using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria and tolerances.
Verify that parts and assemblies meet required quality standards and customer specifications before release.
Document inspection results accurately and completely in accordance with quality inspection processes and procedures.
Identify nonconforming parts, record findings, and communicate issues to appropriate personnel for follow-up and corrective action.
Follow established quality control and quality assurance procedures throughout the inspection process.
Work closely with production and other team members to support continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Train on the day shift to learn processes, standards, and documentation requirements before transitioning to the 2nd shift schedule.
Maintain inspection tools, equipment, and work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies while working in a metal fabrication and aerospace manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
Experience using precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications accurately.
Knowledge of quality inspection processes, procedures, and documentation practices.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong math skills to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
Solid mechanical aptitude for understanding manufacturing and metal fabrication processes.
Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM after training on the day shift.
Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing and metal fabrication environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior aerospace inspection experience is preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing inspection or quality control role is preferred.
Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or industrial quality standards is beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify nonconformances.
Effective communication skills to document and relay inspection findings.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a non-climate-controlled metal fabrication and manufacturing facility that supports metal finishing and aviation component repair and overhaul. You will work primarily on 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, following an initial training period on 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The environment is active and production-focused, with exposure to typical shop conditions such as noise and metalworking operations. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety and comfort while performing inspections on the shop floor.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
