Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking a Systems Operations Supervisor to provide first-line leadership for a team of highly skilled IT professionals supporting critical systems for the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, stability, and continuity of complex enterprise systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements. You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for systems architecture alignment, operational risk management, disaster recovery, release coordination, and audit readiness.
This position focuses on supervision, coordination, and operational oversight rather than hands-on technical work. You will guide staff, remove barriers, and ensure work is prioritized and aligned with MNIT and DCYF goals. You will also collaborate closely with leadership, security, infrastructure, and business partners to support systems that deliver essential public services.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 444 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting or overseeing IT systems operations in a complex, multi-system environment, including system availability, operational stability, and coordination of system support activities.
Experience must include:
Two (2) years of lead work or supervisory experience.
Overseeing or supporting systems operations activities, such as system availability, incident response, operational stability, or service continuity.
Coordinating or supporting disaster recovery, business continuity planning, or operational risk mitigation efforts.
Working with enterprise systems or applications where uptime, reliability, and compliance requirements are critical.
Experience collaborating with technical teams, business partners, and leadership to coordinate work, resolve issues, and align priorities.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to foster mutual understanding, and guide teams through change.
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving, complemented by formal or informal leadership and people engagement skills to deliver positive user experiences and high-performing results.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising IT staff, including performance management, coaching, hiring, and employee development.
Experience supporting or overseeing large, complex systems environments (e.g., mainframe or highly integrated enterprise systems).
Experience supporting or coordinating security, audit, compliance, or risk management activities.
Proven ability to foster team development by promoting collaboration, trust, and knowledge sharing, while empowering individuals to achieve collective goals.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
Experience overseeing systems operations in a high-availability or 24/7 environment, including incident response and service continuity.
Experience coordinating disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning efforts.
Experience providing operational oversight across multiple systems or teams, including prioritization, risk management, and cross-team coordination.
