Hybrid work schedule available, up to 50% telework depending on business needs. Telework can be outside of the state of Minnesota if the candidate lives in a state bordering Minnesota and lives 50 miles or less from the primary work location. Primary work location will be the Golden Rule Building in St. Paul.

The Energy Conservation and Optimization (ECO) team is responsible for oversight and regulation of over 120 electric and natural gas utility efficiency programs. The ECO team also manages the $3.6 million conservation applied research and development program (CARD) and the Minnesota Efficiency Technology Accelerator program (ETA).

The ECO team seeks a student worker to provide assistance in the review of ECO utility triennial plans, final research report review, support for the CARD and ETA programs, and other duties to assist analysts in the regulation of the ECO program.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be a student in a college/university, trade or technical school, if a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution they must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any less credits (class) load shall be treated as a semester off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Education Verification Form prior to appointment.

-Pursuing a degree in Science, Engineering, Economics, Business, Public Policy, or similar field.

-Skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

-Must be highly organized, proactive, self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks.

-Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

-Demonstrated interest in energy and sustainability issues.

-Pursuing a graduate degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Studies, Law, Public Administration, or similar field.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
