Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in Vernon, California on a Long-term Contract basis. This position supports the full receivables function by overseeing billing activity, payment application, account reconciliation, and customer account follow-up. The role also partners with internal departments to keep orders moving, resolve payment discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records and reporting.

Responsibilities:

Oversee end-to-end accounts receivable activities, including invoicing support, collections outreach, cash application, chargeback tracking, and account reconciliation.

Contact customers regarding outstanding balances, address payment questions, and work toward timely resolution of account issues.

Evaluate customer credit status to help release orders and coordinate with shipping teams to support on-time fulfillment.

Prepare daily deposit activity, process credit card transactions, and accurately post incoming cash receipts.

Record journal entries and maintain dependable accounting data within Business Central and related financial records.

Review aging reports regularly, follow up on overdue invoices, and escalate collection concerns when needed.

Lead month-end receivables close tasks, including preparing customer statements and generating AR-related reports.

Reconcile receivables accounts such as unapplied cash, deductions, and chargebacks while investigating discrepancies tied to shortages, damage, discounts, or shipping issues.

Partner with internal stakeholders and external auditors by supplying documentation, resolving billing concerns, and supporting compliance-related requests.

Assist with merchant payment reconciliation, sales tax-related review, process improvements, and additional accounting assignments as business needs evolve. Requirements

3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable along with exposure to general ledger accounting.

Practical knowledge of commercial collections, cash applications, billing support, and daily cash activity.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; experience using Business Central is helpful.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and cross-functional teams.

High level of accuracy, sound analytical ability, and careful attention to financial detail.

Ability to organize competing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Collaborative approach and a proactive attitude when working across departments.

Background in fashion or retail is a plus
