Job Title: Electrical Lead
Job Description
The Electrical Lead oversees the electrical operation on the production floor by setting and improving standard operating methods, coaching electricians, and serving as a primary technical resource. This is a hands-on role in which you will spend most of your time performing electrical work, including building control panels, field wiring machinery, and troubleshooting issues using engineering drawings and electrical schematics. You ensure that all electrical work meets print specifications and quality standards within established timeframes.
Responsibilities
Lead the electrical operation by establishing clear standards for electrical work and coaching the team to consistently meet those standards.
Serve as a working leader by building electrical panels, field wiring machines, and troubleshooting electrical issues using engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Verify that all electrical work performed by you and the team is accurate, safe, and aligned with print specifications and internal quality requirements.
Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on equipment such as sheeters, slitters, slitter rewinders, roll slitters, stackers, unwinds, roll stands, rewinds, graphics trimmers, and panel cutters.
Work with voltages up to 480V, including installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring and related components.
Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and onsite visits to customer facilities, resolving electrical and wiring issues on machinery.
Process orders and kanban requests to ensure parts, components, and materials are available when required for ongoing electrical work and maintenance.
Lead efforts to identify, recommend, and implement improvements that enhance electrical quality, safety, and productivity.
Lay out jobs from drawings and specifications, planning and executing multi-step tasks using a strong cause-and-effect analytical approach to problem solving.
Perform work in alignment with established repair, installation, and electrical wiring practices and procedures.
Follow all safety guidelines and best practices when working with live circuits, high voltages, and industrial machinery.
Collaborate closely with the maintenance team and other departments to minimize downtime and support efficient production operations.
Essential Skills
Proven experience as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, and panel wiring diagrams.
Hands-on experience working with voltages up to 480V, including installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical wiring and components.
Demonstrated skill in building control panels and performing panel wiring to specification.
Experience field wiring industrial machines and equipment.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a cause-and-effect analytical approach to diagnosing and resolving electrical issues.
Ability to lay out and execute multi-step electrical jobs from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, and lift for extended periods on a daily basis.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed.
Ability to stand for 8 hours per day, at least 5 days per week.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting converting equipment such as sheeters, slitters, slitter rewinders, roll slitters, stackers, unwinds, roll stands, rewinds, graphics trimmers, and panel cutters.
Experience with a maintenance team environment within a manufacturing facility.
Comfort providing customer support via phone, email, and onsite visits.
Familiarity with kanban or similar systems for managing parts and materials.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and support other electricians or maintenance staff.
Strong communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to both internal teams and customers.
Commitment to working safely around high-voltage systems and rotating equipment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces sheeters, roll slitters, slitter/rewinders, stackers, and other converting equipment. You will work on a maintenance team of approximately 12 people, collaborating daily with other technicians and departments on the production floor. The position follows first-shift hours, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The environment involves working around industrial machinery, electrical panels, and high-voltage systems up to 480V, requiring consistent adherence to safety procedures and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Work is physically active, involving standing for most of the shift, as well as bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and lifting materials and components up to 50 pounds.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
