Job Title: Engineer I

Job Description

The Engineer I role is pivotal in supporting power-related engineering projects by applying established engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications. This position is responsible for assisting with design and construction efforts, estimate preparation, development of design options, and creation of construction specifications. You will work closely with internal teams and contractors to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities

Apply engineering processes and design standards to power-related systems.

Support estimate preparation, design development, and construction specifications.

Provide oversight and quality assurance reviews for contractor-developed designs and construction packages.

Promote a safety-first approach in planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance activities.

Collaborate with internal departments involved in engineering and construction efforts.

Utilize discipline-specific software applications and adhere to design standards.

Support design criteria and standards development.

Assist construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.

Estimate materials and transmit construction packages and supporting documentation.

Essential Skills

Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, and proficiency in P&ID.

0-5 years of related experience with mechanical and electrical design.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Experience pulling mechanical and electrical drawings from drawing repositories.

Experience performing field walkdowns and marking up drawings.

Experience sketching system P&IDs for missing drawings or components.

Introductory engineering knowledge and basic problem-solving skills.

Ability to follow procedures with limited independent decision-making.

Basic knowledge of discipline-specific engineering software.

Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, engineering teams, and vendors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Estimate preparation, design options, construction specifications, and contractor oversight.

Work Environment

The position is onsite at a power plant in Atlanta, GA. This role involves working in a dynamic environment at Plant , where collaboration and effective communication with various teams are essential. The plant setting demands adherence to safety protocols and a strong commitment to quality standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
