Job Title: Setter - 1st Shift ($20/hr, entry level machine operator)

Job Description

As a Setter, you will play a critical role in the production of rubber parts for the aerospace industry. You will be responsible for performing and planning mold changes, including setting all process parameters to ensure the production of high-quality parts. This role requires adherence to safety and ergonomic standards while maintaining excellent housekeeping practices.

Responsibilities

Perform and plan mold changes, ensuring the setting of all process parameters to produce quality parts.

Implement and integrate health and safety policies into daily work activities.

Ensure compliance with company policies and correct any non-compliant employee behavior.

Execute part changeovers and machine setups efficiently to minimize downtime and scrap.

Set parameters such as temperature, cure time, bumping, and pressure to obtain process approval.

Conduct light maintenance work and troubleshoot process issues.

Periodically check molding parameters to ensure a stable production process.

Manage the transport of molds to and from the tool shop and prepare them for setup.

Perform minor tool repairs and de-nicking.

Ensure all setup requirements, such as loader boards and pre-heated molds, are available.

Perform other related duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.

Essential Skills

Ability to lift 35-50 lbs daily.

Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.

Possess an eager and positive attitude.

Desire to start and grow a career in manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

No previous experience or resume required; entry-level position.

Past production or manufacturing experience is a plus.

Spanish-speaking only is acceptable.

Work Environment

The facility specializes in producing rubber parts for the aerospace industry and features a large number of injection molding machines and hot presses. The workplace follows lean six sigma principles, maintaining an extremely organized environment with air conditioning to ensure comfort despite the heat from the machines. This is an ITAR-compliant facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
