Summary You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER (Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation Subject Matter Expert) in the EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE ENGINEERING GROUP (SEA 05E); of NAVAL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE (SEA 05). Responsibilities You will support Naval munitions and the Packaging, Handling, Storage, Transportation (PHST), through direct support to Navy and Marine Corps munition programs from design and development through production and in-fleet service. You will directly support the Technical Warrant Holder (TWH) in maintaining relevant specifications and standards within the warranted area. You will support industry partners under contract for the Navy. You will review test reports and risk assessments to provide recommendation for approval. You will have demonstrated experience with ordnance handling equipment used to handle all-up rounds, weapon sections, ordnance containers and related items. You will prepare and review technical reports and trade studies on the application of Ordnance PHST. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (or GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer designing Packaging, Handling, Storage, Transportation (PHST) tools, equipment, procedures or processes to support ordnance or munitions program. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-@type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. Additional Information The NH-04 broadband is equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15 grade levels. This position has a control point; thus, the salary range for this position is capped at GS-15, step 05 which is currently equivalent to $197,200. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
