What's Expected from this Role?
As the D&T Software Engineering Director, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of CBRE's Valuations & Advisory Services (VAS) through technological innovation & transformation. Your key responsibilities will include:
Strategic Leadership & AI Transformation: As an Engineering leader, provide visionary thought leadership to drive the AI transformation journey for the VAS business, integrating cutting-edge AI/ML, Data, and predictive analytics to revolutionize services and solidify industry leadership in Commercial Real Estate (CRE).
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Spearhead operational excellence across all engineering functions, ensuring the continuous delivery of high-quality, impactful software and data applications. Identify and significantly improve existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline.
Global Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and manage a multidisciplinary, globally distributed team across the US, UK, and India. This includes formal supervision, monitoring training and development, conducting performance evaluations and coaching, and overseeing recruiting and hiring. Serve as an inspiring role model, motivating and developing teams to achieve their full potential.

Change Management & Digital Transformation: Lead expert change management, deploying transformative products, fostering rapid adoption, and mitigating risks. This includes a proven track record in delivering change management and digital transformation.
What you'll need
To excel in this transformative role, you will need a unique blend of strategic vision, technical prowess, and leadership capabilities:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
At least 7 years of experience in software engineering or data engineering.
At least 7 years of experience in full-stack enterprise application development using Java Technologies.
At least 7 years of experience in the Spring Framework (Core Spring, Spring Rest, Spring Boot).
At least 7 years of experience in database like SQL Server, PostgresDB, Oracle, etc.
At least 7 years of experience in architecting & building RESTful APIs or Microservices.
At least 5 years of people leadership experience.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
Experience managing the technology strategy for an organization's product.
Proven ability to architect highly resilient, cyber-secure, and cost-effective enterprise platforms that adhere to the highest engineering standards
Machine Learning Fundamentals: Deep understanding of various machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and advanced deep learning techniques (e.g., neural networks, reinforcement learning, Generative AI, LLMs).
10+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-native architectures on AWS, including serverless, containerized, and event-driven systems.
10+ years of experience in public-cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, GCP.
10+ years of experience in building or managing large-scale data consumption, management, or governance platforms.
10+ years of experience leading multi-functional data engineering teams and full-stack teams.
10+ years of experience with Spark or other big data processing technologies.
10+ years' experience with Python and/or Java.
10+ years' Experience with Agile project Management: JIRA, Version One, ADO and CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins or other tools).
Experience with Application Monitoring and observability tools: Splunk, Datadog and NoSQL Databases like DynamoDB.
