Job Title: Access Control Technician 2 Job Description

As an Access Control Technician 2, you will independently manage the installation and configuration of access control systems, ensuring optimal functionality and security. You will play a critical role in diagnosing and repairing both hardware and system issues while providing valuable support in programming and integrating security systems.

Responsibilities

Independently install and configure access control systems, panels, controllers, and network connections.

Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs for hardware and system issues.

Assist in system programming, database setup, and integrations with security systems.

Read and interpret door schedules, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.

Provide guidance and training to Apprentice and Level 1 Technicians.

Coordinate with project managers, clients, and site contractors.

Maintain detailed as-built drawings and daily job reports.

Ensure all work meets company quality standards, NEC, and OSHA compliance.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years of experience in access control or low-voltage system installations.

Strong knowledge of troubleshooting techniques, controllers, and lock hardware.

Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation accurately.

Experience with access control systems such as Lenel, Axis, etc.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam.

Strong communication and organization skills.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

OSHA 10 certification required to start.

OSHA 30 certification required within 90 days of hire.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with low voltage installation and conduit bending.

Prior experience in a construction environment.

Blueprint reading skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mansfield, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
