Job Title: Pulp Operator - 3rd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking Pulp Operators for eight temporary-to-permanent positions in Vonore, TN. The role includes four openings on the day shift and four on the night shift, operating on a 2,2,3 schedule from 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. This position involves starting with in-feed processes, monitoring water chemistry, and managing the final product through the spreader and forming machine. Extensive training is provided for two weeks, including classroom instruction and job shadowing.

Responsibilities

Feed bales of grass into the conveyor to load into pulp tanks.

Operate telehandler for loading processes.

Monitor water chemistry, chemicals, pressure, and temperature in pulp tanks.

Ensure adherence to safety, recipes, processes, and formulations using checklists.

Take the finished product from pulp tanks and put onto spreader and forming machine.

Work effectively as part of a team, focusing on quality and safety.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in forklift operation.

Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting.

Experience with pressure checks and boiler systems.

Knowledge of machine safety protocols.

Strong attention to detail and quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Entry-level position suitable for individuals with maintenance experience or aspirations.

Educational background from TCAT or a local trade school in maintenance, electrical, or boilers.

Process-oriented mindset with the ability to follow step-by-step instructions for recipes, protocols, and safety.

Work Environment

The role operates in a plant/production environment, which can be hot and cold. The work involves handling water and grass mixtures, and working with a variety of machines including tanks, boilers, conveyors, and thermoforming machines. The environment can be challenging but offers a dynamic and engaging workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vonore, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
