Electric Meter and Gas Meter Service Technicians - Scope Services is actively hiring candidates to perform work as an Electric Meter and Gas Meter Service Technicians. You will be doing exchanges of electric meters and gas modules and or meters. You will also learn how to utilize the computer system to plan and complete your daily work. Driving daily as required by assigned geographic areas. You will also be expected to process the required data accurately and meet all required completion dates. We will provide step-by-step training to ensure you are comfortable with the process and have a solid understanding of the work expectations. This is a minimum 40-hour workweek.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Installation of Gas Meters.

Exchange of existing Electric Utility Meters and install Module Upgrades to Gas Meters as required.

Identifies and reports all hazardous working conditions and specifically those hazardous conditions that prohibit the safe exchange of meters to management.

Performs up to standards within time frames outlined by Field Supervisor and Project Manager.

Commitment to customer service by responding to the needs of internal and external customer.

Completes all work in an organized, timely manner, within the instructed standard procedure.

Sets appropriate priorities and works in accordance with legal hours worked policy and all safety requirements as outlined within Corporate Policy and Procedures.

Day, Evening and Weekend Shifts. Some overtime and weekend hours maybe required at times.

Commitment to complete work assignments

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Self-motivated with ability to work with little supervision.

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Ability to read meters and willingness to learn to operate new equipment and implement new procedures.

Ability to comprehend new hand-held technology, i.e., Cell Phones, GPS, PDAs, and Digital Cameras.

Strong Directional Skills: Ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments and websites, i.e., Garmin's, Tom Toms, Yahoo Maps, MapQuest, etc.

Able to read written instructions, write legibly, understand verbal instruction, make simple computations, complete daily work assignments and transpose numbers accurately.

Physical capacity to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing the work assignment.

Ability to communicate professionally and deal effectively with unexpected situations on customer premises such as irate customers, unfriendly dogs, meter tampering and the unexpected.

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Pre-Screen:

Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

Driver License required.

Physical Requirements:

Rare: (less than 10%): crawling, climbing ladders, sitting, climbing.

Occasional: (up to 33%): kneeling, climbing on/off a truck, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Frequent: (up to 66%): standing, walking, stooping, squatting, manual dexterity, seeing distant, reaching, hearing-speech range, depth perception, body-twisting, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reading, color vision, lifting, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs.

Continuous: (up to 100%): a sense of touch, smell, seeing, speaking clearly, gripping, range of motion, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs.

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week.
