About this role:
The Claims and Recovery team sits within TCOO and plays an important part in delivering reliable, scalable technology that supports key operational processes. To continue advancing our modernization efforts, we are adding a Lead Software Engineer who will focus on backend and middleware development using Java.
In this role, you will help build and enhance the services that support our core Claims and Recovery platforms. The team is currently working on significant modernization initiatives, including the ACH PEGA Migration and the PayOn PEGA Migration, and your technical expertise will contribute directly to successful delivery and long-term scalability. In this role, you will:
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education.
5+ year of experience in Java and Spring Boot
5+ years of experience in OpenShift Container Platform and Kubernetes
5+ years of experience with Jenkins and SonarQube
Desired Qualifications:
Financial services industry experience
Full stack development experience in Java, JUnit, Spring Boot, JPA, XML, Kafka, Tomcat and Oracle.
Experienced in microservices development.
Experienced in DevOps tools such as GitHub Actions and Splunk.
Experienced in performance monitoring, analyzing and fixing performance issues.
Expertise in relational database design and performance tuning of SQL queries on Oracle.
The candidate should be very strong in communication, listening and writing skills. He/She should be able to communicate ideas/views clearly.
Experienced in working on integration platforms such as API GEE.
Experienced in development of SOAP webservices using JAXB or JAX-WS.
Job Expectations:
Analyze requirements and document high level/low level technical design.
Develop code with established standards/best practices around security, scalability and performance.
Develop unit test cases to ensure complete code coverage using Junit, and SonarQube.
Perform code reviews of developers in team.
Responsible for end-to-end testing and ensuring zero-defect releases in production.
Responsible for test automation using selenium.
Strong understanding & experience of security scans such as Checkmarx, BlackDuck and vulnerability fixes.
Provide high-level and low-level design to developers in team and mentor them by solving their technical queries.
Ensure implementation of standard development practices followed by team members.
Develop reusable components and solve performance issues.
Perform Root cause analysis of production defects and provide technical solution to fix them.
Perform POCs on new technology or for solving business problems.
Contribute towards organization initiatives for innovation and Gen AI.
Be able to drive initiatives / innovative ideas till implementation.
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
