Description - External 1. Maintain active caseload of assignments as provided by supervisor. 1. Gather all relevant information required for the determination of an offender's initial classification, offender initiated and board initiated reclassification(s), including sending all notices to relevant parties. 1. Process all associated correspondence and documentation during the classification and hearing phase. 1. Work with legal staff in coordinating all discovery documentation required for the classification of assigned sex offender(s). 1. Cross train designated personnel in all aspects of unit duties and responsibilities. 1. Maintain ongoing relationships with local, state and federal agencies. 1. Maintain accurate information on SOR database and provide law enforcement and criminal justice agencies with registration and classification information and status to ensure that offenders are properly registered and classified. 1. Provide assistance and training to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies in the proper use of the SOR database. 1. Conduct community and law enforcement training under the direction of the supervisors of the classification and registration units. 1. Responsible for familiarity and working knowledge of all statutes and CMRs relating to SOR law. 1. Attend unit staff meetings as directed by Supervisor of Classification. 1. In conjunction with Registration Specialists, provide phone support coverage in response to all inquiries related to registration and classification. 1. Assist Registration Unit with duties, tasks and responsibilities as needed. 1. Perform related duties as required according to the needs of the agency. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience. II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience. III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience. Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
